Official Server Rules & Player Conduct Charter

These rules exist to protect the integrity of our roleplay environment and foster a community based on respect, storytelling, and collaborative creativity. By joining Seyruun the New Epoch, you agree to these expectations. Failure to adhere to them may result in disciplinary action.

1. Server Content & Rating

All content in Seyruun the New Epoch is rated Mature (18+). The server contains themes of:

​

• Violence and warfare

• Dark fantasy

• Adult language

• Supernatural horror

• Sexual themes and romance

​

Important Clarifications:

​

• Public sexual content is strictly prohibited. All graphic content must fade to black and continue in private messages or private servers outside Seyruun.

• All participants must be 18 years or older. Minors will be removed without exception.

• The server is not liable for users who misrepresent their age.

​

If your content violates Discord’s Terms of Service or real-world laws, it will be deleted, and your account may be reported.

​

2. Roleplay Standards

Godmodding & Modding

Godmodding is attempting to control the outcome of scenes or another character’s response.
Modding is rewriting facts or ignoring established in-character events.

Examples include:

​

• Forcing another character to die, fall in love, or agree with you.

• Ignoring wounds or consequences without justification.

• Retconning losses or rewriting scenes without consent.

​

Avoid this by:

​

• Keeping all actions in-character.

• Allowing consequences to unfold naturally.

• Discussing high-stakes scenes OOC if needed.

Meta-Gaming

Meta-gaming is using OOC knowledge in-character.

Example:

​

• Reading a scene you weren’t part of, then suddenly knowing everything your character could not have known.

​

This breaks immersion and undermines narrative integrity. All knowledge must be earned through proper IC discovery.

​

Forced Roleplay

No player may force another to take actions that go against their character’s morality, background, or core principles—unless it happens organically through roleplay and consent.

​

Allowed: A character tries to convince a knight to break his oath.
Not Allowed: A player tells the knight’s player they’ve already accepted the bribe.

​

Players must retain narrative agency over their characters at all times.

​

Harassment

Harassment is never tolerated, whether in-character or out-of-character.

This includes:

​

• Name-calling or mocking

• Pressuring others to play a certain way

• Gossip, exclusion, or OOC intimidation

​

All reports of harassment will be taken seriously. Provide evidence (screenshots preferred) and report to your Race Lead, or available staff member.

​

3. Player Behavior & Expectations

​

• Keep all OOC disagreements out of IC scenes.

• Maintain respect for all players regardless of role, race, or rank.

• Do not impersonate staff or falsely claim authority.

​

You are not required to befriend everyone. However, you are expected to remain civil at all times.

​

4. Posting Guidelines

​​

• You may participate in three scenes per character, provided timelines do not conflict.

• Always announce your exit from a scene if leaving mid-session.

• If a room has 5+ people, a posting order must be followed.

• Keep OOC chatter in designated channels.

​

5. Character Guidelines

​​

• Players can have up to seven characters per Discord account. As well as 3 personal NPC characters. This does not include adoptable NPCs or temporary NPC’s for events, those are based on staff approval.​

  • Character slots six and seven can be made two months after the latest character made

  • NPC creation can happen anytime with staff approval - based on activity

• One new character per month for the first five slots

• All characters must apply through the website and be approved by staff before creating the character on the server.

• Character sheets must reflect your current stats and abilities. Misrepresentation is grounds for removal.

• PBs (Playbys) must be real people or AI-generated art in period-appropriate clothing. Any commissioned art must note the artist for credit, or state the name of the real person in use.

You may only change your PB every 60 days, and the depicted individual must be of legal age.

​

6. Power, Stats & Skills

All powers, skills, and stats must match your character sheet.

Do not:

​

• Use powers or skills in combat that you have not purchased.

• Alter rolls, lie about outcomes, or falsify character stats.

​

Fraud examples:

​

• Throwing fights to manipulate storyline outcomes.

• Hacking or altering bot rolls.

• Tampering with character progression logs.

​

These are considered severe violations and may result in permanent bans. There is a small exception for those not participating in combat scenarios, small leeway given for rp flavour.

​

7. Professions, XP, & Wealth

All profession income, wealth, and experience must be:

​

• Earned through roleplay

• Logged in your character’s ledger

• Justified through scenes or downtime actions

​

You may spend XP across your characters with staff approval, but must never transfer narrative achievements from other servers.

8. Leave of Absence Policy

If you will be absent for more than 10 days, notify your Race Lead or post in the #leave-of-absence channel.

During an LOA:

​

• You do not receive XP, coin, or story updates.

• Your character is temporarily removed from active plotlines and all current scenes will be closed.

• Your sheets will remain untouched until your return.

​

9. Discord-Specific Rules

​​

• Use bots only in designated channels.

• Refrain from spam or excessive off-topic posting.

• Keep your nickname simple in normal font, or formatted as First Last for easy tagging.

• Your server profile image must match your character’s appearance, unless using tupper for posting.

10. Disciplinary System

Seyruun the New Epoch operates on a three-strike system:

​

1. Verbal Warning
   Issued by Race Leads. Requires valid evidence such as screenshots. Delivered privately with expectations laid out.
    

2. Suspension
   Voted on by the Leadership Team. Player removed from play for a designated period.
    

3. Removal
   Permanent ban, decided by majority vote among Leadership.
    

In severe cases, staff may skip steps based on threat level, disruption, or abuse.

11. Reporting Process

If you witness or experience misconduct:

​

1. Bring it to your Race Lead with clear documentation (screenshots or logs).

2. Race Leads will escalate valid cases to the Leadership Team.

3. All reports are handled confidentially and impartially.

​

False reports will result in disciplinary action.

​

12. Roles & Staff Structure

Our server functions under the guidance of:

​

• Owner – Server management and final authority.

• Leads – 

• Co-Leads – Assist with approvals, events, and moderation.

• Race Leads – Approvals, moderation, and race lore guidance.

• Story-Tellers – Manage storylines, scenes, and player arcs.

​

Certain roles are compensated monthly with XP, and promotions are decided by staff vote. Interested players may request training or nomination.

​

13. Real Life Comes First

We are a storytelling community, not a job.

​

• You may step away anytime.

• If real-world conflict arises, focus on your wellbeing.

• For threats or harassment outside Discord, contact your local authorities immediately. We cannot intervene in personal matters beyond server boundaries.
